The best part is that the price is very reasonable. If I remember correctly, it was only $6 for an adult. They had a good collections of items and cars, however I felt they could treat it a bit better. For starters, you have vacuums, dust brooms and even a table with an open empty styrofoam container, apparently from a fast food place just sitting in the museum. Not sure why those things can't be put away instead of just left in the museum area. Worst of all, they had boy scouts building model cars in the lobby and the entire time, there were a group of young kids running around the museum area. Not the lobby, but actually in the museum where there were tons of breakables. It makes no sense why the staff couldn't make them leave. The museum is mainly about The Elliotts and it didn't seem very respectful to have all that going on and being accepted in the museum area. This may have been an isolated incident, but that's how it was when I went so that's where my review came from. Again, good collection, but bad experience.

The Georgia Racing Hall of Fame is a must-see if you are close to Dawsonville. The highlight of the tour was our tour guide, Vaudell Sosebee. She is a volunteer docent and the wife of one of the original inductees to the Hall of Fame, Gober Sosebee. Her intimate knowledge and connection to the people and objects honored in the museum brought a special touch to our time spent here.

Good place to relive the NASCAR history. They have got some pretty good cars too!! And don't forget the moonshine place. :-)

Nice variety of racing memorabilia, focusing on NASCAR and Bill Elliot. There are some interesting cars from various errors of racing. Well worth a visit if your in the area.

We attend three races a year and were travelling near the vicinity of Dawsonville on our way back from Bristol and WOW what a delight! If you are coming from another state, get a hotel coupon at the welcome center and stay at Motel 6. Be sure to have breakfast at the Pool Room owned by Gordon Pirkle who also runs the Hall of Fame. Order a superb breakfast and Chat with Carolo whose husband is the Mayor. During our visit to the museum, my husband helped push a car out on it's way to Charlotte. So much un for a die hard Nascar fan.

Stopped here while passing through. It's off the beaten path but you won't miss it when you drive by. The museum is very clean and has a ton of cars and history for any racing enthusiast. They closed at 4 p.m. and I stopped in at 3:55 p.m. hoping to get a peek inside and snap a photo of me outside the building. The staff was so accommodating and insisted that I could do the entire tour. Much to my surprise, it was even guided! And, to make things better - my guide was racing legend Gober Sosebee's lovely wife Vaudell. She was so sweet, answered questions and really made my experience over the top! I consider myself lucky to have met her!Admission was $6 and worth every penny, if not more!

Even though small, this place is packed with race cars. A must for Bill Elliott fans. There are profiles of all those elected to the HoF.

Probably the best NASCAR museum I have been to. Very well laid out and easy to walk around the displays.

Worth the $4 to see. Lots of to look at. Also has a operational still that you they provide guided tour of.

If you think its about NASCAR Racing in general, its not. It's only about local racers that grew up here. Bill is the main one. I was disappointed because I have been to the race museum at Darlington race track. That place had cool stuff like illegal parts that the teams made to make their cars better than the other guys. Not this place. Its all about Bill. One other good thing is they make legal moonshine next door to the hall of fame. Its free and really neat.

Our photo club invaded the museum Saturday morning. We practically had it to ourselves for several hours. Finished off with a tour of the moonshine distillery.

Had a great time here. Brought long time friends visiting from Phoenix and we all really enjoyed the visit. The most enjoyable was meeting Mrs. Sosebee, whose husband was one of the 1st NASCAR racers. She was so sweet and made us all feel like family! This place is a 'gem' and if you are in the north GA area, it is worth the visit. Thanks again to the great staff!

GRHOF is worth the visit when your in the north Georgia area. Plenty of auto racing history in the area where auto racing began. Very reasonably priced for the whole family. Make sure you have lunch at the Dawsonville Pool Room in downtown

Stopped by to check out museum while in the area. Price was $4 for adults. If you are really into racing plan on spending some time here looking at all the racing history they have on display. There is some much to see here. Worth the stop.

My husband is a huge Nascar fan and I am not. This was a stop on our vacation so he could have equal time having let me antique shop to my hearts content! I was pleasantly surprised t how interesting it was. I really enjoyed seeing the trophies, reading the stories and seeing the old photos of all these race car drivers. Excellent film clips from the past and lots of interesting things for everyone to enjoy. Very well done and inexpensive,
