ok for a public owned campground. Not all restrooms were open and they allow dogs not traditionally allowed at campgrounds such as pit bulls and rottweilers.

With miles of trails and a huge dog park, this is a super dog place. For children, there is a huge playground, there are picnic shelters, camp sites, and a nice lake.

It's like a large open forest. There's benches throughout for seating. You can sit near the lake and watch the water of feed the birds. It's very friendly and relaxing there, we brought lunch. There are public rest rooms to use, which are clean.

I enjoy Sesqui as a hammock camper with the Palmetto State Hangers. We are here this weekend for our annual Frozen Butt Hang outing. We camp at two adjacent primitive group sites. Here are plenty of tall pine trees and open spaces. Here is plenty of space to accommodate our group of members and guests attending. About forty of us suspend our hammocks and spread out comfortably. I am here for two nights. I enjoy our toasty bonfire with all sitting or standing around it. One member roasts an entire hog on a smoker. Several bring firewood. Several bring food for side items, desserts, and snacks. A Dutch oven provides a wonderful dessert by one of our officers. We eat hearty breakfasts with lots of iron skillet spam and bacon. We feast in the forest in the middle of the metropolis. The time I notice the outside world is early morning as the surrounding highways and interstates fill the dawn quiet with traffic sounds off in the distance. Sesqui is a tranquil place. Many in our group enjoy Bubble Ball Soccer in the huge playing field on Saturday afternoon. Some of us are amused playing a unique card game Saturday night. The restrooms are a short hike away from the group sites. For some reason, we are pleased (blessed) not to be harassed by raccoons in the middle of the night. This state park is dog-friendly. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and informative. If you have to shop or seek additional entertainment, there are numerous stores and restaurants just a short drive from the park. I hope to continue to visit and camp here.

Nice trails and quiet! Close to town. Large open fields, and wooded areas. Outdoor picnic sheds, or sites with grills. Playground for the kids.

We love the trails this park offers! Our dog loves them equally as much! The pond is wonderful to take some family photos with, or to just sit on the bench and relax a bit in the afternoon.

If you drive all the way to the end of the main road, there's a really pretty lake with a walking trail. Plenty of picnic benches to sit and eat and enjoy the day!

We spent a night at Sesquicentennial just because of the close proximity to a property we own there. Columbia has that city feel that we were hoping to get away from. Despite the large size of the park we could here car horns and sirens throughout the night. After collecting some kindling in the woods behind our site I found my hands covered in deer ticks. Bathhouses were in fair condition but glad we were only here for one night. Not a park where I would want to spend an extended weekend.

Hiking and cycling trails at sesquicentennial. Miles of walking trails around pond and surrounding area. Paved or natural trails for walking and Mtn biking. Great way to spend an afternoon or an early morning run / ride.

The trails are in good shape; short enough to feel like you are getting a workout in the country. Environmentally, not Muir's Woods but still pretty place to walk.

This park offers all the amenities you could ask for.... nice lake, covered picnic areas, nice grounds to stroll, plenty of space.... they offer canoes, paddle boats, etc. Great place for couples, families or singles to visit. Didn't notice if pets were allowed but if so, great place to take them too! You can check them out before you go on the web. Highly recommend!!!!
