We live near this park so its easy to spend time here. Love to walk the trails. Fishing is good too. It can get overcrowded on summer weekends.

The camping area is secluded off of the main area and far away from hiking, lake and the pool and I only wish it was closer - having to drive is a bit of a hassle. It's a nice campground (bit tight, not a lot of privacy between sites) bathrooms were VERY well maintained but there are NO LOCKS in the showers. The State Troopers patrolled a lot, they were friendly enough but it was a bit much. The butterfly garden and hiking trails up to the mill were very kid-friendly, loads of open space and the creek was a pleasure to play and explore around. We had lunch down by the lake, plenty of picnic tables and restrooms - nice for the kids (and parents!).

My family has our annual family reunion at the park and it is always a good time. I took my infant son this year and we had a great time at the pool and pushing him in his stroller on the trails. This is something I will continue to take my family in the years to come!

My stay at Little Buffalo State Park from August 23rd thru August 27th 2014 seemed nice, until the day of departure, when I noticed bites in certain areas of my body. I posted photos on Facebook hoping for an answer as to what could have bitten me. To my surprise I was informed that they looked like Bed Bug Bites!! I was horrified not only because of the neglect on the parks side but that I may have an infestation entering my home!! I immediately called and left a message with the park to please check cabin #3 for Bed Bugs! The following day August 28th 2014, I spoke to a gentleman who confirmed my worst fears... The cabin was indeed infested with Bed Bugs!! He continued to day that they found them after disassembling the wooden bunk bed frames!! They offered their apologies and to refund my money back. I inquired why they didn't know and don't they do inspections and treatment for them. His reply was they are running on a small window of time between reservations and it would be impossible to know! Really?!?! Unacceptable to me!!! Now, 6 days from my first breakout of bites, I am totally covered in massive amount of bites!! I had to seek medical attention due to infection. The gentleman also said they were closing the cabin down for the rest of the season to treat it. With the amount of bites I received, the Bed Bugs had to been there for a long time!!

This is our fourth annual visit to Little buffalo State Park. As a group we rent all 5 camping cabins. Our friends were in camp cabin #3 Friday and Saturday night. Our family was in camp cabin # 4 for the same period.. Our friends left Sunday morning, at which time we moved to their cabin as # 4 was not available for Sun. night. Sometime Monday our friend called to say that she had bug bites all over. At that point we were assuming they were just your ordinary "been camping" bites. Three days later I broke our with terrible bites, welts, and hives all over my upper body. My friend did see a doctor, and he confirmed they were in fact bed bug bites. In comparing our bites I certainly had the same thing.I contacted the park regarding this, and was a little put off by the response I got. I was asked if I was calling just to inform them of this. At that point I stated that was my original intent, but now I was requesting I be reimbursed. I did in fact miss three days of work, and spent a lot to try to sooth my skin. This was absolutely NO fun.We love camping in this park, I was told someone would call me today, and no one did. I am not certain we will return at this point.

The park is very clean and the use of the bathrooms are very clean. There are a lot of trails for every one. The ranger of the park are very helpful.

Little Buffalo has a very top notch pool with fun slides for kids. It also has great, well maintained hiking trails, boat rentals, including paddle boats and canoes. If you go on a Saturday the Mill even still runs and has tours. There is stuff all year long. The Christmas Trail in December is a yearly family tradition!

For the outdoor-minded, there are many activity options. We recently had family pictures taken at the park with a multitude of background options. The mill offers a great backdrop, with other options close by - including, the covered bridge, the lake from the breast of the dam, a railroad car, a small playground for the kids all by the day use parking area. The swimming pool area is great with the water sprinklers/features and 2 slides. My granddaughter had a blast. While the pool area was busy, it wasn't over crowded. There was plenty of room to move in the pool without running into others or feeling cramped. The pool area did close a little early - 7 pm on a Saturday. We have kayaked and fished the lake a few times and have mixed luck. Depending on time of year/day, you can catch bluegills, perch, walleye to name a few. A beautiful area to enjoy the scenery.

I took my wife here for a surprise to see our first covered bridge. We came in November and it was so cold but well worth the trip. Clays covered bridge was moved here and is in great shape. Loved it and will return.

This little state park really has it all! There are well-maintained hiking trails for all fitness levels. The pool is outstanding with the spray area being a big hit for kids (and adults like me who love water!). You can rent boats to go out on the large lake or take you own. For history buffs, there is a working mill that has been restored. They run the mill on most weekends in the summer and there is usually an employee there to answer questions and give tours. There is also a beautiful covered bridge and train car! The camp ground and cabins are really nice and well-kept also!

Overnight stay with 30 foot RV. Campsite easily accessible and clean. Park area beautiful. No on site shop. Campfire wood available not far from site. Great little pizza place down the road. Zeiderelli's. Please remember (we didn't) that alcohol is not allowed in Pennsylvania State Parks.

I recently took my three kids (16,16,20) and several of their friends to little buffalo state park. some of us rented a boat at the dock when we arrived while the others brought their own. The staff was helpful and we enjoyed our time on the lake. The fishermen in the group were a little disappointed that they didn't catch anything. We used the picnic facilities while we were there. There are plenty of tables and huge trees for shade. We also used the pool during our visit. The pool was clean and well guarded. The changing rooms were also relatively clean. The water slides and other water features were a real hit. Overall, it was a great day trip for all of us and we would go back again.

We camped over a three-day weekend, staying in the cabin area, two adults with two well-behaved teenagers on break from school. Loved the pool, though it was too chilly to use when we were there. We attended a cool guided salamander hunt along a stream, and all the little kids enjoyed finding and catching various types of salamanders. We fished but didn't catch more than a few bluegill, but that's par for the course and the kids enjoyed that. The cabin we had was heated, though with the separation between table area and bunk beds, it was a good thing we took our own electric heater as the one there was insufficient for heating the entire (small) cabin. Also, the inside cabin was white-painted old wooden walls and you could see through the flooring, ceiling and wall areas, which made for an even colder temperature inside, and not as nice as most primitive cabins we've stayed at in other state parks and private campgrounds. Regarding security, which is always appreciated while camping, we all felt like the camping area was under some strange kind of high-security alert, a little more patrolling than necessary perhaps. The patrol came around at least a half dozen times during the day, and there were not a lot of other campers around, nor any noisy obnoxious people, so it felt a little intimidating and uncomfortable. Some small garbage bags from a neighboring campsite blew through our spot, a windy weekend, and the patrolman was right there, requesting my teenage son who was in the cabin clean it up. Hey, no problem, we can do that.. (Yet behind our area was also left-over toilet paper probably left behind under the trees by earlier campers who couldn't walk the short distance to the toilets.) . Mind you, we are just your normal small family camping group, and we've been to dozens of places across the state. There's a point where it feels relaxing, yet there's also a feeling like you're being watched for some unknown reason. We'll probably give it another try when in the area, but we won't go out of our way to go there, given there are so many other options.

We have a scooter rally ride to this park every August. It has clean restrooms and a great swimming pool with slides. The park tables are clean too.
