Jockey Hollow is beautiful and well maintained year-round. The park rangers are friendly and helpful, there are many different trails to explore and the Wick House and other structures throughout the park connect you to the great historical significance of Morristown for the troops in the American Revolutionary War.

A gem of a park where George Washington and the Continental Army were encamped during the the Revolutionary War. The winter of 1779, 80 was colder with more storms than Valley Forge.You should stop at the visitor center, but the best way to view the park and imagine the experience of the troops who had very little food and meager clothing is to walk some of the trails and visit the soldiers' huts about a 3/4 mile walk from the visitor center. If you have time walk to the top of Mt. Kemble to Stark's Brigade site following the Grand Loop Trail(white blazes) to the Blue trail where on a clear day you can view New York City(pick up map at the visitors center). A wonderful place for immersing yourself in history, bird watching or simply for walking- which I enjoy 2 or 3 times a week.

It is beautiful in all seasons but fall is by far my favorite! Easy trials for exploring. But do be careful with the bugs and ticks! Very interesting display at the visitor center and the Wick House - very educational on the American Revolutionary War.

Morristown National Historical Park commemorates the sites of General Washington and the Continental army’s coldest winter encampment. What a great place to walk a hiking trail and learn about history in 1780. Nice visitor center with a movie on George Washington's army. Visit the WIck's house and garden.

First off to pay $10 for valet in Morristown was a turn off. Then to have a four course chefs tasting that was literally "a taste" was disappointing. Usually the first two courses are small with the third being considered the main course. I don't think I ever left a restaurant hungry before. Cocktails were expensive, $20 for a Macallan 12... Where are we? NYC? Food was just ok. Very loud and just disappointing . No amuse was offered either. If I am going to pay those prices I will go to Bernard's Inn which is consistently good.

I always try to take advantage of a few hours between work to visit something of historical interest - this is a MUST see - great film-reel/DVD of the history in the media room too.

My wife and I love bringing our pup (red-bone coonhound) out here for exercise. It's not really a tough hike, more of a relaxing trail walk for those seeking nature. Some historic stuff to see along the way for the history buff. All of this is free! They would have you believe this is real. The only thing authentic is the geography. The rest is ersatz...cabins, outhouses, etc. You can walk the fields on a nice day and feel like you have had an outing, of sorts. It's free, so you don't waste your money, only your time. Visit the museum and and it will give you an idea of the place but even that is disappointing. Seems like they are trying to give lip service to the war for independence but their heart isn't into it. Even little kids seem bored. I liked being there because the sun was out and the air was fresh, but on a grey day...kill me, please.

Jockey Hollow is a gem! It is an opportunity to get up close and personal with history. There is a visitor center that is the place to start. Be sure to see the movie! There are numerous hiking trails that allow you to access areas of the park that you can't by car. Imagine walking where the brave Colonial soldiers did that forged our freedom!The soldier huts are fun to explore for young and old alike. If you just want to enjoy nature, it is also the place to go. Check for special programs such as soldier encampments, they are so worth visiting.Only caution is that during the winter months, it has reduced hours. Be sure to check before you go.

What a nice way to get some fresh air while learning about the birth of our nation! Jockey Hollow provides a number of interpretive sites.

I live close to Jockey Hollow so I can hike and bike. I also like to cross-country ski there it's a bit challenging but fun. In the spring and summer the different shades of green are beautiful when the sunlight shines The Cross Estate and nj Audubon society or close. You can hike all of them in one day!

beautiful trails worth spending an afternoon. natural preserved wooded trails worth exploring. The film on the revolution can help kids understand the difficulties of the revolutionary war.

The trails are so nicely maintained.. I appreciate that they are patrolled as well. No bicycles makes this a dream unlike Lewis Morris Park.

History and beauty. Very helpful Visitors Center---good place to start if you've never been there. Be sure to see Wick House & Farm and the Soldiers Huts. Well-marked system of hiking/ running trails throughout that hook up to the trails in Lewis Morris County Park

Pleasant wooded areas with walking trails. Drive from Madison passes through pleasant countryside with many beautiful country homes.
