The selection of papers and magazines is beyond phenomenal. If it is not here, it does not exist. It is well organized and individual items are easy to find. I heard seven separate languages in a five minute visit.

An institution in Harvard Square next to the main entrance of the Red line "T". Every periodical imaginable ( in every language is sold here.

If you like reading your news in the native language of the country in which it is being made, this is the place to get it.

Pop in and have a browse. There is a huge selection of magazines and international newspapers. I rarely fail to buy something to read.

Is there a weekly, monthly, quarterly, or daily newspaper or magazine of any serious note that Out of Town News doesn’t sell?Just about any major title, and plenty of minor ones, are for sale at this Cambridge institution, now housed in what was the original entry way to the underground Harvard Square “T” station. (The new main entrance is about 50 yards away.) A visit to Out of Town News takes you back to the pre-Internet days, when buying that special newspaper or magazine was a treat because you could explore a rarely seen publication and see either how it worked for the first visit or relish a visit, as with an old friend.Paper and publications still have a place in our web-enabled world. If you agree, a visit to Out of Town News is worth your while. The staff is courteous but sometimes brusque. Be prepared to do most of the searching on your own.

I've been going to Out of Town for French and British magazines and newspapers since I was in college. When visiting friends want to know what's happening in the news at home, I take them here. It's an institution!

Smack on the center island of Harvard Square --the navel of the world, according to locals-- there's little one won't find among foreign and/or national magazines and newspapers. Convenient to the T (subway) station, flanked by taxi stands and across from the lovely Harvard University Yard, it's also a stone's throw from the banks of the beautiful Charles River.

This place, which is right in the middle of Harvard Square, has publications from all over the world. It's small and can be crowded, but for anyone missing their home country newspaper, this is the place to go.

There's no place like this spot that's been a fixture in Harvard Sq ever since I can remember. If you need a magazine or foreign newspaper this is the place to go. Expect to pay a lot for the foreign papers though.

Take a look at magazines and newspapers from all over the globe.Right in the middle of the square… Remember to watch for traffic as you make your way into it!

The friendly staff mentioned they were a TA attraction. You can buy tix for the Hahvard Tours here. We also got some drinks for the walking tour. Just outside Harvard T stop.

This is place is a classic; there is not much else to say. Just as New York has it's meeting point (under the clock at Grand Central), this is the classic meeting point at Harvard. The selection of magazines and newspapers isn't bad either.

If you need it, they have it.The Out of Town News is smack in the center of Harvard Square. You can find obscure magazines, newspapers, books, and sundries. And it's got to be the best place to meet up with anyone in Harvard Square... you can't miss it!
  • erk
well stocked foreign newspapers available - centrally located in Harvard Square - has been there for years
  • Badgerjim
It is not a particularly easy place to walk around, nor is it exactly a relaxing place to browse--but for variety, it's tough to beat. Extra points for selling postcards as well.
