Reasonably accessible for most people - young and old - and a wonderful view from Symonds Yat Rock with extremely helpful and informative sign boards detailing the geological changes that have resulted in the 'meanders' of the River Wye.Picnic benches in profusion in the woodland setting, ample car parking (pay and display) public toilets, and a conveniently located refreshment facility close to the summit of the Rock help to make this a not to be missed place to visit.

Lovely walks and views. We enjoyed we then stopped at the cafe for a coffee and flapjack which was very nice but we found The lady at the cafe wasn't very welcoming.

We went there for a walk with the dog, it was a perfect sunny day and was enjoyed with a nice pint in the pub afterwards.

Beautiful views over Monmouth. Great for photography & bird watching. Lovely walks. Free toikets, parking costs £3.50 and a small coffeeshop serves food, refreshments, snacks & homemade cake. Well worth a visit alone, as a couple or family. The main path can be accessed by wheelchair users, although it is uphill theres a nicely laid path

Absolutely stunning views of the River wye. Peregrines, Buzzards, Cormorants, Goldcrests....I could go on and on! A superb birdwatching area!

We visited here with the dog and we really enjoyed the different walks and the outstanding views. You can literally walk for hours and not get bored of seeing wildlife and nature. Highly recommend.

I love visiting here & go at least once a year. The view is spectacular. It is always quite busy but if you go you'll see why. The car park is only a short walk from the rock, but it is pay & display. There's a super minimalist cafe/gift shop log cabin near the summit where there are rest benches too. The access is wheelchair/buggy friendly, but the Rock it's self if you want to make the most of the view is best accessed by foot. It won't take up much time, but you'll be glad you stopped.

Such an amazing view from the top overlooking the river Wye. Worth the scary drive to the top. Just be aware that it costs £3 to park although you can stay all day should you want to walk but it would be an incredibly steep walk.

Enjoyed a walk amongst the beautiful scenery. Pretty views of the rock and Wye river. Had a cheeky pint in the Saracen's inn opposite the foot ferry. Didn't stop for lunch but the food looked really yummy.

Great view north over the river Wye as it twists and turns through the valleys bellow. Out of season you may find yourself the only ones at the viewpoint. The short walk up to viewpoint has toilets and a small cafe but only open on school holidays and summer season. There is a footpath that will take you down to a river walk, but it is quite a climb back up.

Stunning scenery and we got to see our first Goshawks! We also saw the Peregrines, Sparrowhawks, Buzzards... Breathtaking!

The cliff top at Simonds Yat Rock provided a good vantage point for the iron age inhabitants of 2000 years ago, they built a fort here which is now an Ancient Monument. Also an exceptional viewpoint to see the resident nesting peregrine falcons on the steep limestone rocks. so bring your binoculars. Best to park at the top of the Rock as there are good parking facilities and walk down to the river below providing you don't have walking difficulties. Alternatively you can park at river level below the rock as there are good facilities there also. There is a very scenic walk from the Saracens Head pub along the old railway line to the Biblins and beyond for the more adventurous. At the Biblins you can walk over the swing bridge and follow the river back to Simonds Yat and call the Saracens Head Ferry to transport you back to east bank by the pub, which incidentally is worth a call. Enjoy yourself you will have a great day out.......Altogether a great place to explore with much to see and do with good eating facilities and toilets provided. If you are a cyclist you can follow the old disused railway line from Symonds Yat village to Monmouth which is mainly flat and this is a return journey of twelve or so miles, This is also a very worth while cycle trip.

Walked to Symonds Yat from the Forest Holidays site nearby and it was well worth the effort. It is a fabulous view even on a winter's day. Be aware that the cafe is closed for all of January so take refreshments with you.

Went to Symonds Yat on my way home and was glad I didn't miss it. The views of the Wye Valley were amazing and I even managed to get some Robins to pose for me :)
